Cavs point guard Matthew Dellavedova has missed the last two games due to a foot injury, but it sounds like the Australian-born ball handler is ready to make his return for Tuesday night’s home game against the Indiana Pacers.
“Delly,” as he’s come to be known, participated in Tuesday morning’s practice session and is expected to be well enough to play. Joe Vardon of The Athletic shared the news:
Dellavedova is now serving a second stint with the Cavs. He’s made 11 appearances with the team this season, racking up averages of 9.3 points on 49.3 percent shooting from the field (45.0 percent from beyond the arc), 3.6 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 19.4 minutes per outing.
With Delly back, Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson will likely have their minutes trimmed.
In other Cavs injury news, All-Star Kevin Love, who’s been dealing with a big toe injury, seemed to backtrack on his mid-January return. He’s been cleared for “select basketball activities,” but he’s still not running on the toe. It seems he’ll need a bit more time to recover.
Rodney Hood continues to deal with an Achilles injury, which kept him out of Saturday night’s 133-98 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. He’s currently listed as “out” for Tuesday’s matchup against the Pacers.
Cavs big man Ante Zizic has missed the last five games due to a knee injury and is currently listed as “questionable.”
Tuesday night’s Cavs-Pacers game will tip-off inside Quicken Loans Arena at 7:00 p.m. ET with FOX Sports Ohio having live broadcast coverage.
