Cavs point guard Matthew Dellavedova tied the knot with his dream girl, Anna Schroeder, in July of last year. In each of the 57 games he’s played since, the crafty ball handler has fastened his wedding ring to his left shoe.
While suiting up for a matchup, “Delly,” as he’s come to be known, threads the lace of his left shoe through the gold band that Anna gave him on their wedding day. He then threads the shoelace through the top eyelet and tucks the ring away.
“Why? So I don’t lose it,” Delly told Joe Vardon of cleveland.com. “We take it on and off so much, I really don’t want to lose it, you know. It’s obviously special, and you know, I’m very proud to be married to her. So, I don’t want to lose it.”
Clearly, the bond between these two is strong. When the couple announced their intentions to wed, Delly wrote some touching words for Anna, saying: “She’s the best teammate I’ll ever have.”

Dellavedova, who’s now serving a second stint with the Cavs, was a key contributor for Cleveland’s 2016 championship winning team. His hard-working style of play and gritty defense endeared him to fans in the city.

Delly, 28, has played in seven games with the Cavs this season, racking up averages of 11.0 points on 54.9 percent shooting from the field (48.1 percent from beyond the arc), 4.3 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 19.7 minutes per outing.
The Cavs (8-26 and 5th in the Central Division standings) will be back in action on Wednesday night, as they’re scheduled for a matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. Tip-off inside FedExForum is set for 8:00 p.m. EST.
