LeBron James will sit another preseason game for the Cleveland Cavaliers, as he’s ruled out for Sunday’s contest against the Washington Wizards according to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com.
The Cavs are preserving LeBron James’ legs for another long grind this season. James is 32 and is coming off playing his most minutes in three seasons, so it just comes naturally for Cleveland to let their talisman take as much rest as he can this offseason.
With James out again, the Cavs should be able to give some more run for the likes of Jae Crowder and Jeff Green. The Cavs were also without James Friday when they absorbed a 106-102 loss at the hands of the Indiana Pacers
With 14 years of NBA experience, LeBron James doesn’t need the preseason as much as most other players. Instead, the Cavaliers are more interested to see how the new pieces like Crowder, Dwyane Wade, and Derrick Rose would fit with the team.
Cleveland begins its 2017-18 campaign on October 17 at Quicken Loans Arena against the visiting Boston Celtics.
