After posting 39 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and one steal in Wednesday night’s 113-108 road win over the Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James issued a bit of a warning for whichever team he might face in the playoffs.
“This could be a critical trip (with regards to Playoff seeding),” a reporter said to James after Wednesday’s game at the Pepsi Center, referring to Cleveland’s six-game road trip. “Is it important to get off to a good start?”
“I wanna play well,” James said as he shook his head. “I want us to continue to get better. I think we played well tonight and we were able to get the win. Some games you play well and lose.
“But listen,” James continued. “It doesn’t matter to me if I’m a 6 seed, 3 seed, 2 seed, 8 seed. If I come into your building for a Game 1, it will be very challenging.”

Currently, the Cavs are the 3rd-ranked team in the Eastern Conference standings with a 38-26 overall record — 9.0 games back from the conference-leading Toronto Raptors (47-17) and 1.5 games ahead of the 4th-ranked Washington Wizards (37-28). With less than 20 games remaining in the regular season, teams all around the league will be jockeying for position.
James, now 33 years of age and in his 15th season of NBA service, torched the Nuggets down the stretch, scoring nine big points in the clutch to seal Cleveland’s victory.
“How would you describe where your game is at right now?,” FOX Sports Ohio’s Allie Clifton asked James following Wednesday’s game.
“Uh… probably at an all-time high,” James said with a smile. “Just because of my body, my mind, the way I go out and approach the game. And then the grace of God giving me the ability to do this. I’m blessed and I never take it for granted.”
The Cavs will continue their six-game road trip on Friday night with a matchup against the L.A. Clippers. Tip-off inside the Staples Center is set for 10:30 p.m. EST with NBA TV and FOX Sports Ohio having live broadcast coverage.
