In his 15th NBA season, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James continues to rack up achievements. His latest feat came during Wednesday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets, when he tied Michael Jordan (866) for the most consecutive games with a double-digit point total.
With 6:13 left in the second quarter of Wednesday night’s game, James received an alley-top from J.R. Smith for his ninth and 10 points of the night, allowing him to tie Jordan.
Without a doubt, James, now 33 years of age, has been the driving force behind Cleveland’s recent success. He’s played in all 74 of the Cavs games this season, averaging 27.4 points on 54.8 percent shooting from the field (36.2 percent from beyond the arc), 9.1 assists (career-high), 8.6 rebounds, 1.5 steals and just under one block (0.9).
Earlier this week, the Kid from Akron became the oldest player in NBA history to produce at least 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists in a single season.
James is showing no signs of regression. Just take this ferocious dunk over Jusuf Nurkic from earlier this month for example.
And how about this little nugget from Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com:
“James is the first player since Kobe Bryant to score at least 2,000 points in his 15th season or later. He also moved over the 44,000-minute mark for his career (regular season) on Tuesday, and has logged 53,142 minutes if you count the playoffs.”
James and Jordan are two of the greatest players to have ever graced a hardwood floor. While it’s true that some argue for one above the other, the simple fact is: they are both legends.
