Thursday turned out to be a good one for the Cleveland Cavaliers, as they were able to extend their current winning streak to three games. It was even more special for LeBron James, as he recorded yet another triple-double, finishing with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists, leading his team to a 121-112 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
It wasn’t just any ordinary triple-double, though, as the 59th of his stellar career ties him with the great Larry Bird for sixth place on the all-time list.
When asked how the Cavs superstar feels about tying the Boston Celtics legend, LeBron James admitted that he has always been a fan of him, and that he feels humbled to be on the same plateau as Bird now.
LeBron James has been compared to Larry Bird plenty of times, even seen by many in a higher light as the greatest small forward of all-time. Although that may be the last thing he’s concerned about, James only strengthens his case with his latest achievement.
Despite already playing in his 15th NBA season and now 32 years old, The King has not show any signs of slowing down. He is continuing to play at a very high level, transforming his game to become more effective on the court.
LeBron James will probably have a few more good years left before he retires, and once he does, he will most likely be one of the top players on the all-time triple-doubles list, together with many other records he will break.
