Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James took to Instagram to congratulate L.A. Clippers guard Lou Williams after his career performance in Thursday night’s 125-106 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Williams, now 31 years of age, really had his shot going against the Warriors. In fact, the former Sixth Man of the Year racked up a 50 points on 16-of-27 shooting from the field (8-of-16 from beyond the arc), seven assists, and two rebounds in his 35 minutes of playing time. He had 27 points in the third quarter alone and he knocked down all 10 of his attempts at the free throw line.

Williams is one of the more underrated players in the NBA. He’s a natural-born scorer who was acquired by the Clippers in their offseason deal with the Houston Rockets. The Memphis, Tennessee native says he was playing with confidence against the Warriors.

“What goes through your mind when you know you’re about to get on a heater like this?,” ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt asked Williams after Thursday’s game.

“Just start playing with a lot of confidence,” Williams replied. “I think somewhere in that third quarter I was able to get three 15-foot jumpers in a row. After that, it was all uphill from there. I just felt like I could make any shot after that.”

The Clippers, winners in seven of their last ten games, will be back in action on Thursday night, as they’re scheduled for a match-up against the Sacramento Kings inside the Golden 1 Center. Tip-off is set for 10:00 p.m. EST.
