While eating at a taco joint in central Florida, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James saw that Grambling State’s Shakyla Hill had posted a quadruple-double in a game earlier this week. She absolutely caught the Cavs superstar’s attention, no doubt.
Hill, a junior at GSU, racked up 15 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals for the Lady Tigers in a 93-71 win over Alabama State on Wednesday night — a feat that hadn’t been accomplished in women’s NCAA hoops for nearly 25 years.

“Me and Swish (J.R. Smith) was like ‘holy sh…that’s impressive,'” LeBron James said Saturday. “It doesn’t matter what level you at, what type of league you in, male or female, you able to get a quadruple double in any facet, obviously not with turnovers. She did it with steals.
“Did you see her stat line at halftime?,” James continued. “She had like four points, three rebounds, three steals, three assists. Like, and she went off in the second half, so big congratulations to her for sure.”
Hill’s performance garnered public attention not only from the Cavs star, but also from Chris Paul and James Harden as well. She’s now just the fourth woman in Division I history to record a quadruple-double.
Grambling State head coach Freddie Murray praised Hill for her stellar team play after Wednesday’s game.

“She is very unselfish,” coach Murray said of Hill. “She had to do a lot more last year, because we didn’t have a lot of pieces. Now she is surrounded by players who feed off what she gives us. To get a quadruple-double is just a testament to the hard work she puts in.”
Join us in congratulating Kyla for etching her name in the NCAA’s record books.
