It looks like LeBron James is missing his Cleveland Cavaliers days. That or he just wants to remind people how great he is with the Cavs in case some have forgotten about it.
On Friday, LeBron took to his Instagram story to share a highlight reel showcasing one of the best comebacks in NBA playoffs history. Down by as much as 26 points against the Indiana Pacers during Game 3 in Round 1 of the 2017 postseason, the Cavs clawed their way back for a 119-114 win and the 3-0 lead in the series.
The Pacers had the largest halftime deficit in postseason history at the time with 25, and so naturally, the Cavs had just a 1.2% chance to win. It was an epic collapse from Indiana and a masterful showing from James, who carried the team with 41 points as Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love struggled.
The post came out of nowhere, though, which is why it immediately sparked talks that LeBron James would want a return. In the comments section in a repost of the story, some couldn’t help but wonder why the Lakers star keeps sharing Cavs stories.
Of course a return to the Cavs is not the only thing that can happen. Perhaps he is just looking back at the days he was playing with Kyrie Irving amid his links to the Lakers? That is plausible, though James could have chosen a better clip than that of a game when Irving struggled.
Another possible reason is that it could be a response to Pacers rookie Bennedict Mathurin after he basically told LeBron to prove to him that he’s better. It certainly makes sense for LeBron to show the young gun how he used to destroy Indiana.
Regardless of his intentions on the post, LeBron certainly knows how to tease his followers and make headlines.
