Kevin Love was highly-instrumental in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Game 2 win against the Toronto Raptors. The Cavs’ floor leader LeBron James, had his own big night, but immediately after the game, praised Love’s big night.
“Kevin Love was phenomenal. He gave us a double-double. The All-Star we know and that we’ve grown to love. He was wonderful, man. I said it before the game that we’ll continue to go to him. He was very active cutting off the ball, slashing, hitting the shots.
But he got to the paint early tonight. Got his jump hook going, got a couple dunks coming out of the corner. So it’s big time for Kev to see the ball go through the rim.”
Love finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds. He shot 52.4 percent from the field making 11-of-21 shots on the night. He also nailed two three-pointers to round out his night. This was very much needed because Love came into the night having totaled 87 points over eight games this postseason.
Apart from James, head coach Tyronn Lue also had some good things to say about Love’s game. He pointed out that Love’s good offensive game opened things up for LeBron. He also commented on Love’s advantage when bigs defend him.
“When Kevin’s shooting the ball, playing with pace like he was tonight, I thought he really moved fast, spread the floor in transition, hard cuts on our elbow curl… When he’s playing fast and bigs guard him, this is how he can play”
