LeBron James for the second time in this year’s playoffs capped off another impressive performance with a game-winner with a running floater that he banked in against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night.
It was a highly difficult shot that saw him take it fading left to the baseline over Raptors forward OG Anunoby to push the Cleveland Cavaliers to a commanding 3-0 series lead. Following the game, James made light of the shot by undermining how hard it was in that moment.
“The level of difficulty of that shot is it is very difficult. Don’t try it at home Jeff.”
What has brought more attention to this shot is that James decided to take a shot that was made more difficult by himself by taking a running floater toward the baseline that increased the high degree of difficulty on the angle of the shot that forced him to instead bank it off the backcourt to even have a chance to make it. This was a shot that there would have been some questions as to why he decided to take that look had he missed it.
James’ shot has now pushed the Cavaliers to the brink of reaching their fourth straight Eastern Conference Finals. James has been phenomenal through the first three games of the series against the Raptors where he is averaging 35.7 points on 53.6 percent from the field along with 11.3 assists and 8.3 rebounds per contest. This includes notching at least 25 points in each game while recording a pair of double-doubles and a triple-double. James and Cleveland will have the chance to close out the series on Monday night in Game 4 on their home floor.
