With every series win that LeBron James racks up, it makes his career more and more impressive. With the Cleveland Cavaliers’ win on Monday night, it wrapped up a sweep of the Toronto Raptors, something James has gotten very used too.
According to Elias Sports, the only players that have swept a playoff series more than two years in a row is either named LeBron James or played with James when the streak happened.
This is the sixth-straight postseason that James’ team has swept a playoff series which is by far the best in NBA history. Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, and J.R. Smith are tied for second on the list with four-straight seasons having a sweep in the playoffs.
In Game 4, the Raptors kept it close for the first quarter, but after that LeBron James and his teammates took over. James led the way putting up 29 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds. He played 38 minutes but got some good rest at the end of the fourth quarter as the game was out of hand.
Kevin Love was also key to the Cavs blowing open the game. He finished with 23 points and six rebounds while only playing 30 minutes.
James’ teammates have gotten a lot of criticism throughout the playoffs for not stepping up, but that wasn’t the case in Game 4. Every player on the Cavs besides Tristian Thompson finished with a positive plus/minus.
The Cavs will now have some time to rest and get their bodies right as they wait for the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers to finish up their series.
