In his 15th season in the league, Cleveland Cavaliers star forward LeBron James is still performing at an elite level.
The 32-year-old put that all on display on Friday night against the Washington Wizards as he tied a franchise record with 57 points on a career-high 23 made field goals on 34 attempts in a 130-122 win. According to Justin Kubatko of StatMuse, James’ huge outing put him alongside a pair of Hall of Famers for a prestigious mark.
Although James is highly touted for his all-around game, he has been one of the best scorers that the league has seen as he also became the youngest player to reach 29,000 career points on Friday night against the Wizards. On top of that, he also reached 800 starts with at least 10 points, which is second all-time behind Michael Jordan (866).
Throughout his career, James is currently holding at 27.1 points per game career average, which is fourth all-time in league history. If this pace is maintained, he should easily become the youngest to score 30,000 points and climb much further up the chart in career points well beyond his ninth overall ranking.
If anything, Friday’s huge offensive performance was a clear indication that James has plenty left in the tank and is still the top player in the league.
