LeBron James offered his two cents on the latest recruiting billboard awaiting him before playing the front end of a back-to-back against the New York Knicks.
The Cleveland Cavaliers star was ultimately humbled by the sentiment, considering he’s in the later stages of his playing career.
“Same reaction that I had to every last one of them this year,” said James, according to ESPN’s Ian Begley. “I think it’s very humbling that cities and organizations want me to play for them, especially at this juncture in my career. So, that’s it.”
The billboard, located near in the Knicks’ arena in Madison Square Garden paid homage to his previous post-game quote, claiming he was the King of New York.

This is only one of many recruiting campaigns, which have been seen in Los Angeles, Houston, and Philadelphia — all vying for a shot at the King to come and play in their city.
James claims to not having made a decision on his future out of respect for his contract and the organization — and his team of choice will likely hinge on the performance of this Cavaliers team and if they measure up to reach the NBA Finals for a fourth straight year.
The potential will have a lot to do with his decision, given how a Koby Altman-led new front office managed a major flip of the roster to bring in younger, more athletic pieces like Rodney Hood, Jordan Clarkson, and Larry Nance Jr.
