Even though at times in his career LeBron James has been called not clutch, it seems when the moment is brightest that is when he shines.
When LeBron hit the game-winning three-pointer in Game 5, not only did he give the Cleveland Cavaliers a 3-2 series lead, he also accomplished another statistical feat. James ended the game with 44 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists. He only hit one three-pointer but it was one of the most important shots of his career.
According to Justin Kubatko of Statmuse, that is the 11th time in his playoff career that he has had at least 40 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. That sets him alone as the most in NBA history.
He has had two of those such games just in this series. In Game 2 he finished with 46 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.
As impressive as those games are, they are much more important now than in years past. In the past he has had other guys to lean on to help him with the offense.
This year though he really only has Kevin Love and a bunch of role players. Love also hasn’t been playing as well this postseason which puts a bigger load on The King’s shoulder.
If the Cavaliers continue to advance in these playoffs, don’t be surprised if James adds on to his 11 career playoff games with at least 40 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
