An NBA player earns MVP honors when he is the absolute best in the league for that year. To be in the conversation as the “Greatest of All Time,” a player has to at least be the most dominant player of his era. Does any of that qualifications ring a bell?
From 2003 to the present, Cavs forward LeBron James has conquered the league, winning MVP honors four times, the All-Star MVP three times, the Finals MVP three times, and an NBA championship three times. These are just some of the reasons why James is better than his peers and why he has put himself in the position to be considered the G.O.A.T.
Micah Adams of ESPN Stats & Info just made another case for James to be in the conversation for best player ever with a staggering statistic. He posted the trivia on his personal Twitter account.
“LeBron James has won 43% of the Eastern Conference Player of the Month awards since entering the league.
He’s now won 37 of the 86 given out in that span.”
Adams tweeted this after the league had just announced that James won February Player of the Month honors for the East. This is the seventh consecutive February that he has won the award. For the month, he averaged a triple-double for the first time in his career with 27.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 10.5 assists per game.
Some believe he is already the G.O.A.T., while some believe he will earn that title. Some also think he’s on his way to achieving that distinction. Regardless of what you think, the Cavs star has certainly given us more than enough proof that he is the greatest player of his generation. His Player of the Month totals is further evidence of the fact.
Whether that’s enough for him to be the G.O.A.T. is up for debate, something that will never be determined until his career is over.
Coming out of high school and into the league at 18 years old, LeBron James has proven that he is indeed “The Chosen One.”
