With free agency only a few hours away, it is being reported that LeBron James will not hold a meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Relax, everyone. This isn’t exactly shocking, as James’ people have been said to be in contact with the Cavs through this entire process, and him not meeting with the front-office doesn’t inherently mean doom awaits.
According to ESPN, this is even less of a deal because of how LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul, is handling all his clients’ business.
By way of The Mothership:
Paul, who represents several other players entering into free agency — Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Nerlens Noel among them — will conduct all his business over the phone when free agency begins, sources told ESPN.
See?
Also of note from that same report, Cleveland is basically thinking re-signing James is the team’s “Plan A, B and C” when it comes to free agency, per ESPN’s source.
For those wondering what all the fuss is about, LeBron James is a good basketball player. He can put the ball through the hoop, pass it to his friends in good positions, as well as prevent others from the opposite team from doing positive things with the aforementioned ball. Essentially, LeBron is SportsBall Gawd (patent pending).
