With the Cleveland Cavaliers having only two games left this regular season, that is only two games away from LeBron James reaching a new milestone.
James has had a lot of impressive milestones over his career, but there is still one he has never accomplished, playing all 82 games.
He has played in 80 games so far, and if he can play the last two games against the New York Knicks, he will be able to reach the milestone.
When James was asked about the upcoming milestone by Dave McMenamin of ESPN he gave an answer similar to the one he has given a lot the last few weeks.
“We’ll see how tonight goes,” James said Monday morning. “I’ve been telling you that for the last four weeks. So my mindset is focus on tonight, and if I come out healthy, I’ll be available for Wednesday. That’s all that matters for me.”
James has never had to deal with many injuries over his career but in years past with the Cavaliers so far ahead in the Eastern Conference standings, he was given days off to rest.
With the struggles, the Cavaliers have had this season though they haven’t been able to afford for James to rest. The Cavaliers are probably not going to be able to catch the Philadelphia 76ers for the third seed, and they need only one win to lock up the fourth seed.
If the Cavaliers were able to lock up that seed on Monday night though, there is a good chance he will play in the season finale just to set that milestone.
