This is LeBron James’ 15th season in the league, and maybe his most impressive. He has had his least talented team since he came back to Cleveland but that hasn’t stopped the success of the team. He has carried the team and the Cavaliers are currently sitting with the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
With the struggles of the rest of the team, and with the Cavaliers really having to battle for everything they have gotten this year, it hasn’t allowed him any games of rest. He has never played 82 games in the regular season but he is on pace so to do this year.
Before Tuesday night’s big showdown with the Toronto Raptors, he was asked about playing all 82 games and James tried to downplay the significance.
“That’s never been my plan. My plan has always been to play one game at a time and see how I feel.”
At times James has looked tired this year, especially earlier in the season, but getting rid of Isaiah Thomas and getting in some new young blood has really seemed to rejuvenate the superstar as the playoffs move closer.
To see James miss a game at that point would be surprising and the only way it would probably happen in the last few games is if there was a major injury.
Even though the Cavaliers are in the third seed, the Eastern Conference is so bunched up they are only a game ahead of the Indiana Pacers who sit with the fifth seed.
For James, look for him to hit that 82 game milestone, even if it doesn’t mean a whole lot to him.
