LeBron James is not afraid to voice his opinion, especially when it comes to what he thinks about Donald Trump. During Warriors’ media day on Friday, Stephen Curry said he and the team would decide whether they would attend the White House in February as part of the annual tradition with NBA Champions. However, early Saturday morning, Trump tweeted out that he was disinviting Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warrior to the White House for ‘hesitating’ in their decision.
Trump’s statement, on top of the outrageous claims he made on Friday that NFL players should be fired for kneeling during the national anthem, drew a slew of criticism from NFL and NBA players the likes we’ve never seen before. Superstars in both sports reacted with frustration, but none more than Cavs star LeBron James.
As the face of the NBA, James inspired a lot of athletes in their respective sports to speak out and condemn Trump with his strong tweet. Hours later, it has become LeBron James’ most retweeted tweet, and one that has been heard around the world. After having some time to gather his thoughts, James took to another platform of his in Uninterrupted. In the two minute video, James elaborates on why he’s frustrated with Trump and that he’s going to continue to use his voice as well as his platform to make a difference.
