Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was supposed to be in Cleveland on Thursday facing the Cavs in Ohio, but the NBA suspended the season two weeks ago after Utah Jazz All-Star center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus.
Needless to say, LeBron is disappointed about not being able to play against the Cavs in front of his friends and family:
When James faced the Cavs last season in his first return to Cleveland since signing with the Lakers, LeBron got a standing ovation from the Cavs crowd and a video tribute. It was much, much different than the first time James came home as a member of the Miami Heat back in 2010.
LeBron James led the Cavs to four straight Finals appearances in his second stint with Cleveland. The Cavs won it all in 2016 over the 73-9 Golden State Warriors, becoming the first team in NBA history to erase a 3-1 series deficit.
James won his third Finals MVP along the way.
LeBron finished his Cavs’ career with averages of 27.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists in the regular season. He will get his No. 23 jersey retired by Cavs owner Dan Gilbert one day.
