Now in his 15th season in the NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers swingman Kyle Korver continues to be one of the best three-point shooters in the league. Even if he is 36 years old now, defenders still cannot afford to leave him open for an uncontested look at the basket, especially from beyond the arc as he can knock it down with high accuracy.
On Monday night, he drilled three more and made history by becoming just the fifth player in NBA history with at least 2,100 career three-pointers made.
Korver’s feat also takes him to fifth on the all-time three-point field goals made list, only trailing Paul Pierce, Jason Terry, Reggie Miller and Ray Allen. More importantly, he helped the Cavs extend their winning streak to eight games now, and improved their record to 13-7 for the season.
He may not receive the same amount of playing time he used to get in his earlier days as a pro, but Korver is continuing to earn his minutes and is a fixture in head coach Tyronn Lue’s rotation. He does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon, and it will be interesting to see where he’ll end up on the all-time list once he decides to hang his sneakers for good.
