Tonight (Wednesday), the Cleveland Cavaliers will kick off their series of preseason games with a 7:00 p.m. matchup against the Atlanta Hawks inside Quicken Loans Arena. Tomorrow, however, Cavs forward Kevin Love says he and several of his teammates hope to attend a much bigger game as a group at neighboring Progressive Field, where the red-hot Cleveland Indians will host the resurging New York Yankees in Game 1 of the American League Divisional Series.
The Indians, winners of the AL Central and a whopping 102 games overall, are viewed as one of the most formidable teams in all of Major League Baseball. Cleveland’s impressive bullpen, consisting of names like Andrew “Killer” Miller, Bryan Shaw, Joe Smith, and Cody Allen, is their strength. However, solid coaching and hitting can also be accredited to their success this season.
As most Cavs fans will remember, several members of the team were at the ballpark for Game 2 of last season’s ALDS, where the Indians served as hosts to the visiting Chicago Cubs. In fact, LeBron James actually spoke to the crowd prior to the game’s first pitch.
If Love and company can indeed make it to tomorrow’s game, which is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start, there is no doubt that some photographer will catch them in their lens. Either way, it’s nice to see the Cavs supporting the Indians in blatant fashion.
