Former teammates Kevin Love and LeBron James like to revel at each other’s success, so it was only a matter of time before the former congratulates the latter for the opening of the I Promise School in Akron, Ohio on Monday.
Here is Love giving some props to the immense accomplishment off the court by the four-time MVP (h/t Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints).
“Proud to call @kingjames my Friend. Unbelievable accomplishment and the perfect example for other athletes. Using his platform to better the world.”
The I Promise School is receiving plenty of praises not only because LeBron James played a big role in the creation of the said educational institution, but also for its unique setup. In addition to helping kids from disadvantaged families study for free, the school lends a hand to students who may be facing other issues outside the school that may hinder them from excelling in their studies. The school even assists in helping the kids’ parents find jobs. On top of those, the children get their own bicycles, a personal touch by James, who used to bike around his neighborhood growing up as a form of escape from life’s hardships.
Kevin Love knows how unselfish LeBron James is on the court, having received so many assists from the future Hall of Famer. And now, he seeing that kind of generosity bear fruit in the society.
