The drama in the Cleveland Cavaliers locker room is long gone after the trade deadline deals that sent several players to different teams last week. Kevin Love had to endure being accused of faking an illness in that toxic atmosphere more than a month ago.
But with the new Cavs lineup? He can joke about an injury without a hitch.
Love posted a photo of himself for a promo of his new line for Banana Republic. His collaboration with the retail brand dubbed “BR/K.LOVE-18” is a collection that reflects the power forward’s style, which is “tailored performance pieces”.
Later, a curious fan wondered and asked Love about the photo if it was his injured hand that was inside his pocket.
Playfully, Kevin Love confirmed that it was and that it was done on purpose to hide it from Instagram and Twitter.
Love broke his left, non-shooting hand late January, and the prognosis was that he would miss 6 to 8 weeks. He will not be playing in the 2018 NBA All-Star Game this weekend despite being selected due to the injury.
He was enjoying some of the best basketball he has played in a Cavs uniform before the January issues that plagued the team. But an illness during a game and this injury have kept him from getting back to his All-Star form.
Cleveland’s starting power forward won’t be returning to the team until mid-to-late March as the Cavs push for one of the higher seeds in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers are currently in the third spot in the East standings behind the Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics.
The Cavs could certainly use Love for the stretch run.
