The Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics are locked up in a heated matchup in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Cavs currently lead the Celtics 54-43 at the half, and a big part of that is the 15-1 run Cleveland was able to run off, which helped them outscore Boston 34-18 in the second quarter.
One of the catalysts to that run was Kendrick Perkins. Yes, the inactive Perkins made an impact in tonight’s game and he didn’t even play. Perkins actually told teammate Jeff Green to come rotate and help on the baseline, anticipating a Jaylen Brown drive down the baseline. A second later, exactly that happened as Brown drove by the older and slower Kyle Korver, but had his shot at the basket blocked by Green.
The Cavs are trying to win this game and force a decisive Game 7 on Sunday night back in Boston.
