The Cleveland Cavaliers were hoping to keep their five-game win streak going on the road versus the formidable Milwaukee Bucks. Not surprisingly, the showdown between superstar forwards LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo had generated plenty of buzz.
However, Cavs forward Jeff Green managed to steal the show during the second quarter by taking a page out of James’ book with a monstrous chasedown block on Bucks point guard Malcolm Brogdon.
It goes without saying that James essentially has a patent on the chasedown block. What Brogdon thought was going to be a routine layup wound up being one of the best highlights of the night. Unfortunately, the Cavs wound up falling just short in the 119-116 loss to the Bucks. However, the play represented one of the reasons why Jeff Green has started to take on an increased workload as of late.
Green had some trouble establishing a role early on in the 2017-18 NBA season. Now that he has seemingly started to get comfortable in the rotation, he is seeing more consistent minutes for the Cavs each night.
With his athleticism, the Cavs would like Jeff Green to be more active on the defensive end. Fortunately, he has brought plenty of consistency on offense by averaging 12.4 points on 54.3 percent shooting over the last 10 games.
