According to a report from Joe Vardon of cleveland.com, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert will miss Tuesday night’s home game against the Miami Heat due to continued soreness in his left knee.
Shumpert’s injury forced him to miss a series of games, but the savvy defender made his return to action in Monday night’s road win over the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played seven minutes.
“He just wanted to give it a go, said he felt fine, and then once he played those minutes he said he didn’t feel right,” Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue told cleveland.com.
With Shumpert out of the lineup for Tuesday night’s game, coach Lue will likely give rookie Cedi Osman a bit more playing time. Kyle Korver could also see his minutes go up.
In his 13 games played for the Cavs this season, “Shump,” as he’s known, has turned in averages of 4.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
Tuesday night’s game is scheduled to tip at 7:00 p.m. inside Quicken Loans Arena. Fox Sports Ohio, Fox Sports Heat, and NBA TV will have live broadcast coverage.
