The Cavaliers received some good news tonight regarding their injured guard Iman Shumpert. The 6-foot-5 guard was slated to miss 7-10 days to recover from a sprained ankle but seems to have recovered faster than initially thought.
Coach Tyronn Lue announced his return during a press conference and gave a few details of how Shumpert felt which led to release him back on the court, where he was initially diagnosed to miss the remainder of preseason basketball.
“He practiced yesterday, practiced well, moved really well. He never wants to sit out. He said he feels great, no soreness, so he’s playing.”
Lue is looking to insert Shumpert into the rotation when Derrick Rose comes out to rest to be one of the main cogs to spark the offense off the bench.
The Cavs will face the Chicago Bulls tonight at 8:00 PM EST at Quicken Loans Arena.
