The Cleveland Cavaliers are going for a sweep of the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs this Monday night. The Cavs sure looked like they were all about business and had no intention of seeing this series extend for one more game, as they started Game 4 with all guns blazing — despite missing Darius Garland.

Donovan Mitchell and the Cavs could not have a much better start to Game 4, as they buried Tyler Herro and the Heat after an offensive avalanche, outscoring Miami in the first period, 43-17. At one point, Cleveland had a 30-8 run, sending a loud message to Miami about how bent the Cavs are at ending this series as quickly as possible.

Mitchell led the Cavaliers’ opening-period salvo with 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the floor, including three 3-pointers, while Jarrett Allen had 10 points, six rebounds and four steals. Also wreaking havoc on the court for Cleveland was De’Andre Hunter, as the former Virginia Cavaliers star erupted for 11 points in just seven minutes of action off the bench in the first quarter, going 3-for-3 from the field nd 2-for-2 from behind the arc.

As a team, Cleveland shot 62.5 percent from the floor in the first period, hitting six of 11 3-point attempts while turning the ball over just once. The Heat, on the other hand, struggled with their shot, going just 7-for-21 from the field and 2-for-12 from the 3-point region. In addition, Miami committed six turnovers, three coming from Davion Mitchell.

The Cavs’ early eruption in Game 4 also resulted in a flood of reactions from fans online.

ā€œTime to put the team C, it’s over,ā€ said a fan.

ā€œBRING OUT THE BROOMS 🧹,ā€ one X (formerly Twitter) account posted.

ā€œI just checked with the National Weather Service and this is the longest measured Cavalanche on record,ā€ another fan shared.

ā€œIt’s always snowing in Miami admin,ā€ another comment on the Cavs’ post on X read.

Via a different comment: ā€œdon’t get lazy or make things easy. KEEP GOINGā€

A win by the Cavaliers in Game 4 will set them up for a date in the second round with the winner of the other series between the Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks, which also looks like it’s about to end with Tyrese Haliburton and company up 3-1 in the matchup.
