James Harden seems to be fitting in nicely with his new team, as the Cleveland Cavaliers have gone 2-0 since trading for the former NBA Most Valuable Player. Now, he is set to make his home debut for the Cavs, who will be facing the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
But before that, lucky fans will get to have an awesome souvenir from the game, as the Cavs will be giving away artificial beards to celebrate the first home game of the 11-time NBA All-Star with Cleveland.
“Get ready for Harden’s home debut in The Land – be there early and rock the beard right alongside him,” the Cavaliers announced via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.
The giveaway announcement has drawn positrive reactions from fans.
“Impressive the Cavs can come up with 20000 Harden beards on a stick in just 1 week 😂,” said a fan.
“Lakers marketing team would never come up with something like this,” commented another.
“send that to my house PLEASE,” an X user shared.
“A beard giveaway is hilarious!! 😂😂,” another comment read.
“Coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” chimed in a fan.
Harden was acquired by the Cavs via a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers, who got Darius Garland and a future draft pick in exchange.
The trade happened while Cleveland was in the middle of a road trip, and so far, the Cavs have been winning with Harden. They defeated the Sacramento Kings in Harden’s debut last Saturday, 132-126, before finishing their road trip with a 119-117 win against the Denver Nuggets on Monday.
In those two games, Harden put up averages of 22.5 points, 7.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds, while shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from behind the arc.
