The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the best teams in the league halfway through the season, and it’s because of the play from their stars. Evan Mobley has been one of the biggest difference makers on the team, with his ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. Mobley believes in his skill set as well, and that was evident during All-Star weekend when someone asked him who would be the best player in the league in five years.

“Maybe me or Victor [Wembanyama],” Mobley said. “One of those guys.”

It’s no surprise that Mobley chose himself, which every player should do, but it’s also no shock that he said Wembanyama. There’s a general belief that Wembanyama will be one of the best players in the league, and he’s only in his second season.

Watching what he does on a nightly basis, it’s hard to deny that he’ll be a problem for years to come, but Mobley is saying don’t forget about him, either.

This has been a big year for the Cavs, and many people think they have a good chance to make it to the NBA Finals at the end of the season. Mobley has been with the team for a couple of years, and there’s a reason why he believes that this current roster is a title contender.

”I feel the difference is just our chemistry,” Mobley said via D.J. Siddiqi of Basketball Insiders. “Everyone is clicking on the same page and clicking at the same time. Everyone knows exactly where we’re going to be on the court and we’ve been having a great ball movement which has helped us a lot.”

The Cavs have one of the best offenses in the league, and their defense has been stout as well. With the addition of De’Andre Hunter, that will help them on both sides of the ball as the second half of the season begins.

”I think this year is definitely the year for us and we all want to get to the championship,” Mobley said. “I feel like we all are on the same page with that and we all believe that we can win a ‘chip this year, so that’s the plan.”

It won’t be easy for the Cavs, as they still have to deal with teams such as the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference, but they seem ready for the challenge.
