A report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski last week said that the Cavs are prepared to listen to trade offers for Kevin Love.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst added on to the report by saying Love is “clearly unhappy” in Cleveland.
“Let me just say that I think the Cavs’ phone lines were always open on Kevin Love,” Windhorst said on his podcast. “Love showed up for training camp two days before. Kevin was living his best life out in the world. I think that was a message right there. He’s clearly unhappy.”
Love is making $28,942,830 this season. He has three years left on his contract with the Cavs after this season ends.
A five-time All-Star and NBA champion, Love is averaging 16.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game this season for the Cavs. He’s shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 37.1 percent from beyond the arc and 88.2 percent from the free-throw line.
Plenty of contenders would love to acquire Love. He has career averages of 18.2 points and 11.2 rebounds with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cavs.
The Cavs are 5-17 on the season. They are in the 14th spot in the Eastern Conference standings. In the second post-LeBron James era, Cleveland is looking to build its franchise around youngsters Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, Kevin Porter Jr. and Cedi Osman.
