The Cleveland Cavaliers have had solid production out of 15-year guard Dwyane Wade this season despite the disappointing first-half to their season. The Cavs have lost 10 of their last 13 games, including losses to the Warriors (twice), Spurs, Thunder, Raptors, Kings, and Jazz. Unfortunately, their attempts to begin a winning streak will have to be done without the Marquette swingman.

According to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, Wade will not play Friday night when the Cavs host the visiting Indiana Pacers, and will also be away from the team for an undetermined amount of time.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Wade is dealing with a family emergency and has been granted permission to leave the team for as long as he needs.

Wade is currently averaging 11 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steal per game in 23 minutes of action. The 23 minutes are easily a career-low for Wade, who averages 35 minutes per game for his career, but the Cavs are trying to preserve Wade for the 2018 postseason.

Cleveland hosts the Detroit Pistons on Sunday afternoon before flying to Detroit to take the Pistons on in their house Tuesday night.
