The Alabama Crimson Tide found themselves in what can be considered one of the strangest predicaments in basketball, during their game on Saturday versus the 14th seeded Minnesota Gophers.
After a skirmish happened on the court, the entire bench of the Crimson Tide were ejected from the game, leaving them with only five players. However, one of them fouled out, and the other suffered an ankle injury, forcing the team to play 3-on-5 for nearly the last 10 minutes of the game.
However, Alabama even outscored their opponents during that stretch, as sophomore Collin Sexton led their charge, together with his two teammates. He finished the game with 38 points, and his team only lost by five points in the end. His gutsy performance caught the attention of many, including Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dwyane Wade.
The Crimson Tide may not have had the result they were hoping for in the afternoon, but Collin Sexton was able to showcase his competitiveness and will to win. It could also serve as a source of motivation for their team not to commit the same mistake again, and give their best in all their games. For what it’s worth, it could’ve also raised Sexton’s stock, should he decide to declare for next year’s NBA Draft.
