The Cleveland Cavaliers have a chance to close out the Detroit Pistons in Game 6, and what makes it even better is that they’ll be on their home court. It was a big Game 5 win on the road for them after being down late in the fourth quarter and coming back to win in overtime.
Now, the Cavs are in full control and can advance to the Eastern Conference Finals with one more win.
Dwyane Wade knows the pressure that it takes to close out a game like this, and he sent the Cavaliers an urgent message before Game 6.
“I’ve been in these situations before,” Wade said. “If you’re the Cleveland Cavaliers, you gotta lock the doors. You can not let Detroit get out of here with any life. This is your Game 7; don’t even think that you have another game. This is it. This is the season. They’ve been playing very well at home, especially Donovan [Mitchell]. I feel like in this series, Don is averaging about 40. ”

If the Cavs can get another monster game from Mitchell, that should put them in a good position to take the win. James Harden came alive in Game 5, as he finished with 30 points to help seal the win. Mitchell and Harden know how important it is for them to play well in order for the Cavs to succeed, and they’re going to do whatever they can to close the series.
On the other hand, the Pistons have already shown during the postseason that they’re resilient, and they can win when their backs are against the wall. They came back from a 3-1 series deficit against the Orlando Magic in the first round, and they’re in a better predicament this time around to try to come back.
It will be interesting to see which team comes out with the most sense of urgency.
