Draymond Green is more than impressed by what Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Evan Mobley has been showing this 2021-22 season. In fact, the Golden State Warriors star predicts big things for the Cavs youngster in the near future.
On Sunday against the Toronto Raptors, Mobely went beast mode and exploded for a monster double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds. He was a huge thorn on the side for Toronto, who had no answer for the Cavs big man as they fell 104-96.
Green, who remains sidelined for the Warriors due to a back injury, had his eyes glued on the game and couldn’t hold back in his praise of the youngster. The former Defensive Player of the Year sees Mobley becoming an All-Star in 2022-23 and winning the Most Improved Player of the Year honor.
While those are some bold predictions from Draymond Green, it isn’t without merit. After all, Evan Mobley himself is on the way to winning the Rookie of the Year award this year. He has really separated himself from the rest of the 2021 draft class, and the fact that he is a major factor for the Cavs in their playoff bid should play well in his favor.
The 20-year-old is certainly more than capable of becoming an All-Star, and if he’s able to improve from his performance this 2021-22, it’s not hard to see him going to the All-Star festivities in 2023 alongside Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen.
Certainly, the future is looking brighter than ever for Cleveland.
