Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley took home some trophies during All-Star Weekend as they won the Skills Challenge. Both Cavs players were able to defeat Draymond Green and Moses Moody in the final round, and they looked excited to represent their team during the weekend.

When it was time for their press conference, Mitchell made a statement that should have fans excited for the rest of the season.

“Hopefully, this is like some foreshadowing moment,” Mitchell said as he was about to sit down with the trophy.

Donovan Mitchell wants to win the big trophy

The Cavs have the best record in the Eastern Conference, and they have a good chance of making it to the NBA Finals with the type of season they’re having so far. They’re clicking on both sides of the ball, as they have one of the best offenses in the league, and their defense continues to give opposing teams trouble.

Mitchell is leading the team with his strong play, but it’s also been players such as Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen who are helping. There’s no doubt that the Cavs are going all in this season, and they acquired De’Andre Hunter at the trade deadline from the Atlanta Hawks to add to their frontcourt depth to stack up with other contending teams such as the Boston Celtics.

Hopefully, Mitchell’s foreshadowing can come to light for the Cavs, and they’re able to put their hands on the NBA championship at the end of the season. The biggest thing for them is to keep the momentum that they had in the first half of the season going into the end of the year.

Mitchell will have to keep playing at a high level and be the engine that leads the team, and there’s no doubt that he’ll be able to do so for the chance to compete for his first championship.
