Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell is listed as “questionable” with a sprained finger on his left hand before the team takes on the Boston Celtics on Monday, according to multiple sources.
Forward Dylan Windler will be available against the Celtics, while forwards Mamadi Diakite and Isaiah Mobley are listed as “out,” Right Down Euclid Editor-in-Chief Evan Dammarell wrote in a Sunday tweet.
Donovan Mitchell left with a sprained finger in the third quarter of Saturday’s game against the Detroit Pistons. He returned to the floor and announced as “probable to return” with his fingers taped on his left hand. He did not return after the Cavs continued to build a comfortable lead over the Pistons, ending with 20 points, three rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes played.
13 players earned minutes for the Cavaliers in the 114-90 win in Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Guards Caris LeVert and Ricky Rubio made 22 and 20 minutes each off the bench, tacking on a combined 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the dominant show on the Cavs’ home court. Recently-signed Cavs guard Sam Merrill earned four minutes, making one of his two shot attempts after a rotation from Pistons forward Isaiah Livers freed up enough space for Merrill to cut to the basket for a shot in the paint.
Center Robert Williams and forward Danilo Gallinari are listed as “out” for the Celtics, while guard Malcolm Brogdon is listed as “Day-to-Day.” Williams exited Friday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets with left hamstring tightness, an injury he sustained while trying to defend a layup from Nets forward Cam Johnson. He ended the night with six points, six rebounds, and two blocks.
The Cavs will tip off against the Boston Celtics at 7 p.m. EST on Monday in Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The game will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Ohio.
