Donovan Mitchell’s 2023-24 season with Cavs
Mitchell was mentioned in trade rumors early in the season. Although Cleveland may be active ahead of the upcoming NBA trade deadline, they are unlikely to trade Mitchell.
The Cavs currently hold a stellar 31-16 record and are in third place in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland is expecting to make a competitive playoff run, and Mitchell is their best player.
In addition to his aforementioned 35.1 percent three-point shooting in 2023-24, Mitchell is averaging 28.2 points, 6.4 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game. Mitchell is also shooting 46.9 percent from the field.
Donovan Mitchell earned his fifth consecutive All-Star selection as a result of his strong season. The Cavs would not be where they are without his contributions. Mitchell is a star and could lead the Cavs to a deep playoff run.
Of course, the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks are favored in the Eastern Conference. Nevertheless, Cleveland has impressed over the past few weeks and they cannot be overlooked.
For now, the Cavs will focus on ending the first-half on a high note before heading to Indianapolis for NBA All-Star Weekend, where Donovan Mitchell will look to win the three-point contest.
