Dez Bryant remains without a job despite being released by the Dallas Cowboys over a month ago. For the meantime, the free agent wide receiver may want to prepare for a job working as an analyst – basketball analyst.
On Tuesday night, Bryant found himself kicking it back and watching Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics. While apparently left in awe of Cavs superstar LeBron James’ performance, Bryant believed that The King simply can’t get the job done all by himself.
LeBron James bounced back from a lethargic Game 1 outing and stuffed the stat sheets with a monster triple-double of 42 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes of action. James shot 16-for-29 from the field with five 3-pointers, a block, and six turnovers.
Outside of Kevin Love and Kyle Korver, who had 22 and 11 points, respectively, LeBron did not get much help just like what Bryant, and many others, observed. The starting backcourt duo of George Hill and J.R. Smith combined for a pathetic output of three points on 1-for-11 shooting, while Rodney Hood continued to disappoint Cavs faithful with a paltry two-point contribution in 11 minutes on the floor.
So far in these playoffs, LeBron James is averaging 33.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.2 assists.
Dez Bryant, however, did not forget to acknowledge the Celtics’ role in keeping the Cavs in check.
Now up 2-0 in the series, the Celtics will look to go up 3-0 this Saturday in Cleveland, where the Cavs are 5-0 in their last five games there. Boston, on the other hand, is just 3-7 in its last 10 games away from TD Garden dating back to the regular season.
