The Cleveland Cavaliers are not only a good team on the court, but off the court, they have some of the best chemistry with each other. That showed after their recent win against the New York Knicks, where during the game, Darius Garland went up for a layup and landed on his head. There was concern at first, but Garland remained in the game for the Cavs and helped them secure the win.

Donovan Mitchell had jokes after the game, as he went on social media and wrote, “Yoo Cavs fans can let’s make custom mask for DG send them to the practice facility please.”

Garland replied to Mitchell saying, “Go enjoy the sunshine in Cleveland brodie.”

Garland is no stranger to face injuries because it was just last season where he had to miss over a month of playing with a broken jaw. The Cavs’ point guard has spoke about how that wasn’t a good time for him in his career since he could barely eat and was losing weight.

Fast forward to this season, and Garland is having one of his better seasons and helping the Cavs to be one of the best teams in the league. Some people still don’t believe in the Cavs, and Kendrick Perkins recently shared why they haven’t gotten the respect of many.

“They haven’t earned respect,” Perkins said on NBA Countdown. “And name me a time when a Donovan Mitchell-led team has reached the NBA Finals or the Conference Finals. The month of Neveruary. It’s never happened. Respect is earned, not given. I get that they have the best record, they have to go out and prove it. Do they have the personnel to get it done? Absolutely, but again it’s just like the Oklahoma City Thunder, they got to show it.”

In order for the Cavs to show that they’re a serious team, they have to continue this strong play into the playoffs and reach the Finals.
