Collin Sexton’s dreams came true when he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in this year’s NBA Draft. Indeed, he has come a long way from a young, scrappy six-year-old kid with big dreams. Recently, he sent out a message to all his contemporaries.
Via his Twitter, Sexton congratulated all those he played ball with since he was six-years-old:

The 19-year-old was the 8th overall pick in the recently concluded draft. As such, much is expected from him by the city. After all, Cleveland is entering another post-LeBron James era. And history reveals that without James, the Cavaliers have always ended up in the losing column.
However, this time feels different. The Cavaliers, along with their prized rookie in Sexton, still have the likes of Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Kyle Korver, George Hill, among others — all sappy veterans who know how to win.
And the Cavaliers fans should get rid off their fears of Sexton being a draft bust. Through six Summer League games, Sexton led the all point guards with 17.8 points per game on 43.3 percent shooting. He was an assassin from just inside the arc, draining 37-of-80 shots for 46.3 percent.
Though he was playing against fellow rookies and prospects in the Summer League, there’s still no denying the talent that Sexton possesses. It will be a whole new challenge once he moves up to the next level. But based on his tweet, Sexton seems motivated.
