It was confirmed earlier in the week that the Cavs expect to be without All-Star big man Jarrett Allen for an extended period after the 23-year-old suffered a fractured middle finger on his left hand. This is just the latest on the long list of injuries Cleveland has dealt with throughout the season.
The Cavs are now looking for some temporary help on their roster amid Allen’s injury. According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, Cleveland has turned their attention to former five-star recruit Moses Brown:
Brown, a 7-foot-2 center from UCLA, is currently on his third year in the league. The 22-year-old played for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, starting 32 games for OKC. This year, Brown had a 26-game stint with the Dallas Mavericks before the Mavs decided to waive him in early February.
Brown now signs with the Cavs on a 10-day deal and he is expected to play at least some minutes in the interim. He will get an opportunity to prove himself for Cleveland with the hope of potentially signing an extension with the squad for the rest of the season.
Moses Brown holds career averages of 5.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
