The Cleveland Cavaliers have assigned their young big man, Ante Zizic, to the Canton Charge to gain more experience, as well as have additional workouts to better prepare him for his NBA career.
He is expected to suit up for them when the Charge take on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
After being part of the deal centered around Isaiah Thomas and Kyrie Irving in the offseason which landed him in Northeast Ohio, the 20-year-old has only appeared in five games so far for the Cavs, and has averaged 1.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in only 4.2 minutes per game. Ante Zizic is considered a project for now, needing more work on his game in order to become a fixture in head coach Tyronn Lue’s rotation.
According to an official team report, one of the Cavs’ two-way players, John Holland, will be activated on Monday ahead of their game against the Detroit Pistons, and will take over the Croatian international’s roster spot. This is a wise move for the Cavs as they would want to keep their young big man actively playing on the court, even if it’s in the G League.
