Earlier this season (November 6th), Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James posted a cryptic image on his Instagram account. The picture, which featured the balled up fist of PBS Kids’ Arthur, instantly went viral.

James wrote one word in his caption: “Mood…”

Why LeBron James decided to post a picture of Arthur’s fist is still up for debate. Some thought he was simply frustrated with the Cavs’ shaky performance through the early stages of the season. Others believed the post came as a result of Kyrie Irving’s hot start with the Boston Celtics. Whatever the reason may be, Cleveland has managed to rattle off a 14-1 record since that day.

The Cavs’ overall record isn’t the only thing that’s improved since James’ post. In the early stages of this season, the Cavs were at or near the bottom of the barrel with regards to defensive efficiency. In fact, there was a time when they were giving up over 114 points per game. They’ve cleaned up their act a bit since then. Now, they rank 21st in points allowed per game (107.6) and fourth in points scored per game (111.1).

James, now 32 years of age and in his 15th season of NBA service, has played a huge role in Cleveland’s recent success. To be frank, the man has been on a tear. In his 25 games played for the Cavs this season, the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 Draft has turned in some of the best statistical figures of his career, averaging 28.2 points (fourth-highest in his career) on 58.7 percent shooting from the field (43 percent from beyond the arc), 8.6 assists, and 8.0 rebounds.

Though he’s posting some of the best numbers of his career, James believes there is always room for improvement.

James and the Cavs have won 13 straight games, tying a franchise record. They’ll look to improve that mark on Friday night when they face off against the Indiana Pacers inside Baskers Life Fieldhouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST with Fox Sports Ohio and Fox Sports Indiana having live broadcast coverage. Let’s see if they can keep their momentum rolling.
