The Cleveland Cavaliers have had one roller coaster of an offseason following their NBA Finals loss to the Golden State Warriors. LeBron James‘ uncertain future is one thing, but Kyrie Irving‘s trade request came out of absolutely nowhere. While he is expected to be traded, the Cavs already have a backup point guard (if he can stay healthy) in former 2011 MVP Derrick Rose.
With Rose set to don the Wine and Gold next season, the Cavs are also set to rock brand new Nike jerseys starting in 2017-18. Following an 11-year deal with Adidas, the NBA is moving towards a newer look with the popular apparel company Nike.
Teams around the league, including the Chicago Bulls and Portland Trail Blazers of late, have been introducing their new jerseys, and the Cavs official Twitter account looked to tease their fans on Wednesday night with a glimpse of the new uniforms.
While these don’t show much, expect the Cavs to release the official look of their jerseys very soon and even as soon as Thursday morning.
