The Cleveland Cavaliers were awarded the 3rd pick after the NBA Draft Lottery ping-pong balls were selected. With immense options at number three, the team is starting to zero in on a couple of prospects. One prospect they are bringing in for a private workout is Jonathan Kuminga, who spent last season on the G-League Ignite with fellow top-five projected pick Jalen Green.

“The Cavs will also bring Kuminga to Cleveland for a private workout at some point next month,” according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

The Cavs would be thrilled to get Kuminga. As it stands, Cade Cunningham is likely the consensus top pick with Evan Mobley at number two, paving the way for the Cavs to choose between Green, Kuminga, and Jalen Suggs to add to their young roster.

With the NBA Draft combine taking place, Kuminga is showcasing his skills for NBA executives in scouts across the league, catching the attention of some who might have missed him with the Ignite, which averaged 15.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.0 steals playing alongside Green.

He can do a lot of things well on the court, and at the very least he will drop to number five.

The thought of the Cavs adding Kuminga to a team of Sexton, Garland, and perhaps Jarrett Allen is extremely enticing. He can slide in and be a starting wing and the Cavs young core would have a lot of NBA people buzzing with excitement.

The NBA Draft is at the end of July, so keep an eye on the Cavs as they explore options.
