It’s been the same story for the Cleveland Cavaliers since opening night. They’ve had a healthy roster for a handful of games, maybe even less, with injuries to key players like Isaiah Thomas, Kevin Love, Larry Nance Jr., Rodney Hood, and Cedi Osman. Lately, however, they’ve been on the right track to be healthy prior to the end of the regular season and to start the NBA playoffs.
For one, Cavs’ European swingman Cedi Osman has missed the last 18 days with a hip flexor strain suffered against the LA Clippers on March 10. He was set to miss at least two weeks of action, and he’s clearly passed that by now. While there haven’t been many updates on the Turkish guard/forward, it appears he’s getting closer to a return.
On Wednesday afternoon, Osman took to Twitter to post what can be received as a positive message regarding his recovery from the hip strain.
It appears as though Osman is certainly getting close to a return, and the Cavs could certainly use him as Kevin Love will likely need to miss a couple games after entering the concussion protocol and Kyle Korver is still with his family grieving the unfortunate passing of his younger brother.
In his rookie season with the defending Eastern Conference Champions, Osman is averaging just 3.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game on 51 percent shooting from the field and 39.1 precent from three-point land. He has been impressive in his nine games as a Cavs’ starter, averaging 8.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game on 53.6 percent shooting from the field and 45.8 percent from beyond the arc.
