As they often do, the NBA has scheduled what they believe to be marquee matchups for their Christmas Day lineup. This year’s slate of games will be headlined by a meeting between last season’s championship-winning Golden State Warriors and the defending Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hoops fans can watch all of the NBA’s Christmas Day games on ABC, beginning with a matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks at 12 PM EST.
The Cavaliers and Warriors have met on the hardwood 24 times over the last three years. In their Christmas Day battle last season, the Cavs, led by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, managed to grind out a 109-108 come-from-behind victory over the Warriors. With 3.4 seconds remaining on the game clock, Irving drilled a fade-away jumper to give Cleveland the lead for good.
This year, the two sides will square off inside Oracle Arena at 3:00 PM EST. in what will be their third consecutive Christmas Day meeting.
